Dr. Dan Gazit

Dr. Dan Gazit, Emeritus of the Israel Antiquities Authority, is an independent desert researcher. His contribution to the ADASR project is the definition of 100 desert sites from the Byzantine period in the Negev. For decades, he has surveyed and excavated sites in the northwest area of the Negev desert and published many articles. In the frame of collaboration with the ADASR project, he provided a selection list of sites connected with the agricultural settlement of the Negev Desert in the 6-8th centuries C. E.
